A New
Experience: The job change process can
represent a daunting experience for even the most accomplished senior executive.
During my 25 year career in executive search, I have met many successful executives
who, when faced with the need to make a change in their professional life, are uncertain
as to how to approach the process efficiently and effectively. It is
understandable that the job change process is not an area in which most
executives have, or wish to develop, an expertise.
A Journey: My years in the executive search business have taught
me a great deal about the job change process. It is a journey and on this
journey you will learn many things, about yourself, about others and about a
process that, while foreign and at times frustrating, can also lead to a positive
and rewarding new chapter in your professional life. On this journey you will
need to apply many of the skills that have served you well in your professional
life to date as well as possibly learning some new skills. On your
journey you will meet many new people, some of whom may become trusted and
valued colleagues and, potentially, lifelong friends.
As with
many things in life, having an experienced guide to help lead you on your
journey can help in many ways, not the least of which is to reduce the anxiety
and uncertainties that you experience along the way. It can make a significant difference having someone in your
corner who understands the unique challenges that you face and who has the
experience and perspective to provide guidance, objective counsel, or in some
cases, just be there to listen.
A Personalized
Service: As your guide through the job
change process, I will work closely with you on a highly personalized basis. I will listen to your thoughts and feelings
about where you have been thus far in your career, as well as what you seek
in next phase of your professional life. I will help you map out attainable
goals, design research and networking strategies and provide detailed assistance
in the use of online tools and resources. I will provide guidance in
interacting with my colleagues in the executive search community, help you to hone
interview and other personal skills unique to the job change process, and
provide perspective and counsel regarding job opportunities that present
themselves during your campaign. My goal is to help you achieve the career
opportunity that most reflects your goals and objectives at this point in your
life and career.
